Art 17
From my own personal collection. The predecessor to the BLACK
SAMURAI proto types..... THE BLACK KATANA. 11" Italian styled
picklock stiletto. Wedge cut bolsters and scales, bottom bolsters are coffin
cut. Heavy contrast TWIST carbon Damascus blade, bolsters, liners, spring,
and inlayed Damascus button. Liners are .090" thick with full filework.
Damascus spring has been fileworked inside and out. Hollow ground
TANTO blade with a hollow ground tip. This is the only tanto that I've
hollow ground the tip on. All the Black Samurai proto types had flat
ground tips. Blade is 3/16" thick and has 6 hollow grinds on it, ground by
hand. A NASTY, SINISTER blade indeed. Could plunge this blade with
this mech through a car door, its for real. Scales are rare BLACK bark
mammoth ivory, 15,000yrs old. The tusk I cut this set from came from
Russia and was found there under the permafrost. The bark was left in
tact, just as it came out from the frozen ice. Knife has a silky smooth action
with nice torque. Inside of liner has been stamped "Proto" and "BURN." All
the steel was taken to a mirror finish, then acid etched, then hot salt blued,
then polished out again by hand. As shown: $4200. SOLD
